Whatever happened to music. I used to be a huge hip-hop fan. All day, everyday. Now, geez, Soulja Boy? or why is every rap song telling me how to dance!!!!! I dont remember rap being about that! And do not get me started on T-Pain.
And what is sad, is that, IM ONLY 20! Haha. I grew up around music. Between my mom and her love for En Vouge and Madonna, and my Dad with his Dr Dre, LL Cool J and Public Enemy, and thats not counting my uncles', who played everything from Earth Wind and Fire to Bel Biv Devoe. I have an appreciation for music. I was even exposed to the Motown Era and 50's Rock from my grandparents. I loved it all.
Now when I turn on the radio, I hear crap like Pitt Bull and anyone with access to a sythesizer. It's very much irritating. I was having a conversation with my Dad not that long ago of which artist do we think will last. Yea, we were able to just a few off the top of our head. Now, most artist (not all, cause there are some that are true to their music ;) ), they just try and put out the next big hit, instead of music that means something, and that is actually good, and that can last.
Lets be honest, there is a reason why Michael Jackson was such a big artist. He had, and still has a huge follwoing. With his death, his music was exposed to the younger generations. His will never die.
And I love me some Rock and Alternative too. Dont get me wrong. In recent years, i've actually taken the time to listen, (I BECAME OPEN MINDED TO MY MUSIC ;) IT WAS A PROUD MOMENT FOR ME!) and the first song that made me stop and listen, My Hero, Foo Fighters. And me, being the wierdo that I am, I started to look up the band, which of course led me to Nirvana. One word. Amazing. Which brought me to Pearl Jam, and so on and so forth. But for the record, I was already a huge No Doubt fan, and will always be.
Ugh. My point being, Good music is so hard to find now-a-days, and I wish I could just turn on the Radio, and be satisfied.
ohh. and if anyone knows any songs that i might wanna hear, or that you think are great! let me know! i love good music!

Why you ask?

This wouldn't be my first blog. My first blog, well, I never thought in a million years it would tear apart a "family". But it did. Oh well. Guess we weren't much of a family. But I didn't need a blog to help me figure that out. Maybe one day, I will post it on here. I'm not writing this to get a rise out of anyone. I'm doing it for me. One of the few things I will have just for myself. Its Tuesday, my day off. I was drinking my coffee. Just thinking to myself, and I realized. I always feel better after I put my thoughts down. Most days, my mood goes from high to low to normal if I'm busy. When I am at my low, its normally when I think about where I'm at in my life. I will be the first to admit, I'm not happy with the way my life has turned out so far. And yes, I know, I'm the only one who can fix it. And I will. I know I will. I just need to get my self right first. I used to have goals, but slowly, it feels like my goals, have become dreams that I might never reach. (Hence, that is my low). I get through it though. I remember that there are people in the world, that things just don't come easy for. Granted, I'm not poor, not rich either, but I have a roof over my head, and food on the table. So with that thought, I know my life could be worse. I come from a "normal" family. A "normal" family to me is one that knows they cant have the nicest of the cars or wear the the top of the line clothes. But hey, I'm happy with what I do have. Don't knock my Target clothes! I MAKE IT WORK! :) I'm the oldest of three. Me, my half-sister, and my brother. My parents are pretty much the best. And no, I'm not living in a fairy tale where I believe I have the best relationship with my parents. Cause there are days they get on my last nerve. But, I know 100%, I can get on theirs. I guess that's why I can say they are pretty cool. And young for that matter. My mother, is exactly 20 years and 3 days older than me. She had me at a young age, but hey, the world isnt perfect. My dad, he is 8 months younger than my mom. He likes to call her a cougar. I guess it makes him feel young. Ha! Alright Father! I am 100%, fully, certified Daddy's Girl. I will protect my dad no matter what, and I will tell him when he is wrong. My mother and me, we have a complete normal relationship. Haha. There are days I feel I can never please her, there are days I feel she is my best friend. But what I truly believe about our relationship. I like to think, we grew up together. She had me young, for a while in my beginning years, she still wanted to party. I cant fault her for that. I understand she was young. I don't resent her for it. Hell, I DON'T REMEMBER! :) Some people like to hold it against her, but I cant. For one reason, she doesn't hold it against me. By the time I turned 2, she kicked it into gear, with a little help from my Dad. I'm not close with the family I was given. Such as my mom's brothers' and sister and their kids. Excluding two. But I am close with my "2nd cousins" to make it simpler. I feel my mother was born to the wrong Oropeza Sister. I like to say I chose my family. Well the people I truly call family. When I think of family, I think of people you enjoy being around. People that you can argue with and minutes later your laughing with each other. Cause at the end of the day, you remember, your family. I have a best friend that I consider my sister. She has been through a lot with me and my family. And she has never let me down. For that, she makes the perfect sister! Well, that's enough for me today. Not all my blogs will be this way. I just needed a starting point. Something I can look back on 10 years from now, and remember how I felt when I was 20.
